This is an image I made in Modo 201 during the testing phase - I thought I'd put it up here on CGTalk so a wider audience could check out Modo's new renderer.

It was also modeled, textured, and UV'd in Modo. The little rocks are instances. It's lit by one large area light with some additional illumination coming from a lightprobe. There's sub-pixel displacement on the boulder and the plant base, also reytraced shadows, reflection, DOF, SSS, and pretty much every button I could find got pushed.

I'll post some more if I can (last time I posted here you just put up links - I didn't know they had this whole gallery thing going on.)

I assume I can post these here - not sure about the new gallery rules. People who haven't followed the Modo developement threads may be interested in seeing these (if you have these are old news).

edit: Ah' - I see there's already some Modo pics in the gallery. Expect to see a lot of them...

Glad to see these renders in the gallery. Very realistic! Hope to see more modo renders here.

i like the rendering quality of this, but should the leaves in the foreground look so chunky? it looks like a model that hasnt been smoothed. but perhaps this is intentional... i am not expert on leaves :)


a nice tranquil image.

edit

i just noticed there were additional pictures! i only saw the leaves one at first. i like the clay dragon very much as well.
