Hello,

I have entered the UGAC and have kind of been learning the whole game art thing as i go.

I am a bit stuck with the whole window transparency thing. If anyone can help then that would be all kinds of fab and groovy.

"You are allowed an alpha channel on the colour map, for lights, window screens, etc"

This is what I am having a problem with. How do you use a texture map created in photoshop that has an alpha channel to make certain parts of your model transparent or semi transparent? What are the settings?
And without using the 'transparent channel'??

I am using LW8 - any help would be most appreciated.

certain file types allow an additional alpha channel. targa for instance, in its 32bit avatar would automatically(mostly) show transparency within a 3d app
