Title: Bears in Tennis Shoes

This piece, entitled "Bears in Tennis Shoes", is a design for a childrens' book cover. It was a project for an Illustration Methods class. I started by painting traditionally and then I painted on top of the image in Adobe Photoshop, the grass and the bear's fur.

Any critiques are welcome. Thank you.

like it, novel idea!

only thing i would say is that the tennis shoes REALLY stand out and don't look like they're part of the same picture as the bear....keep up the good work!

I know this and I want a copy of the book since I can't remember all the words. It's a camp song I learned back in fifth grade (1976).


The other day
I met a bear
In tennis shoes
A dandy pair
(song repeats)

I looed at him
He looked at me
I sized up him
He sized up me
(verse repeats)


There is many more verses and I remember most but I think I've forgotten one near the end.


ANYWAY, great cover and it's about time someone did this in a book!

As a whole it looks great, like the treatment of the trees.Not sure about the arms on the bear though, to me they seem to skinny not enough volume, ( then again i cant draw animals worth crap)good job.
