I made a CS2 action which takes a flat image (no layers) and turns all the white pixels transparent. I just thought I would share it here if anyone wants it.
First off, it will only work with CS2 since some of the operations in the action involve shift selecting layers (which you can't do prior to CS2).
Also, it works in CMYK mode only and you can't have any completely white channels or it won't work correctly.
I made it because I received client supplied images with shadows on white and the client wanted the files retouched and returned back to them with the shadows on a transparent layer.
If anyone wants the same action for CS1 or earlier or for RGB files, drop me a line and I'll make one for you (when I have time).
Anyway, I hope someone finds this handy.
