View Full Version : frosted dripping water on metal fx- how?

does anybody know how to make "sprits" on metal?
ie frosty dripping water on cold metal!!
in max preferrably!!

actually to me this sounds more like a post effect applied as a texture... hmm, maybe you could mess around with that technique the guy who 's doing rustboy used for the rain on his glass. he basically created a little loping movie using after effects and director, but i'm sure youc ould do the same thing, then use that as an alpha on the frosted effect, and the same texture rounded as a bump /displacement on another object that's in the same space, prolly slightly below the surface if you use displacement so get teh actual drips..

... well anyhow, that's one way of doing things, though i'm sure there are plenty others.

thanx mdme_sadie, i'l try that technique, ..i was hoping somebody new if a plugin existe that could animate drops flying off aswell!, .so this fx in one of maya showreels using particles!

how did that music project of yours turnout?, .i wanted to contribute by had some deadlines that kept me busy till christmas!
