Projectkmo 01-09-2003, 05:29 AM Well, I started my comeback in 3D last month in Max...but some nice folks in the NC area snagged me and talked me into Maya..which i've not used since 2.0.....but I love it...
anyway...I'm getting ahead of myself...but ...
Is there a MASSIVE type plugin for Maya...
max had CS3 with it's Crowd function...anything for Maya??

I don't think your going to get near the
functionality of Massive though.

There are a bunch of flocking plugins/scripts on highend for free. Also there is AI Implant: http://www.ai-implant.com/ It was around 5k last time I checked.

nope, you ain't gonna get all the functionality of massive for free, but it uses the same underlying principles of animating the position of crowdmembers. if your're fit in mel, you could write a script that attaches properly moving characters to the particles. i already roughly outlined such a system in here, so a quick search on 'brainbugz' should give you some insights quickly.
