View Full Version : Oddfather Test Animation

This is the new rework of my Oddfather character. This was a test to check the rig. Usually I would never render out a test, but it was too funny to pass up. The animation isn't perfect, but that wasn't the objective. I wanted to expose any major problems which it did and I fixed. I'll spend the time perfecting poses when I work on the real short. Thanks for viewing and your support. Pete here is the animation

Haha, I remember this image from a while ago... good job! The animation is a few steps away from being perfect though, looks like it could use some smoothing out.
Oh, and by the way... you may want to mention the swearing up front in case some people are playing this at work or what not... I don't mind personally, but its always a good idea to mark 'explicit' content be it either graphic or language.
Cheers!
EDIT: Looked at it a bit closed, the finger could use a little more movement, even if its just to keep them from being totally rigid, especially on the left hand. Also it seems as if the cigar isn't actually in his mouth at all, he kind of pulls it out from behind his face, it doesn't actually leave his lips.

Hi Carl,
Good calls. Actually, the cigar part was never suppose to render, but I added it as a set up pose. I saw the cigar missing the mouth, but as mentioned, this was more of a rig test then finished animation. I agree on your hands comment too. Funny, I was working off a taped pefromance, and they barely moved. Though it does look odd here. I also think on the actual short, I will do the edge and bottom of the jacket in cloth dynamics. Just not sitting right, plus the movenet will "sell it" a bit more too. also..would change the turns a bit more and make it more weighty. Oh yeah, his eye looks off screen for a second too at one point. All this and more will be addressed in the actual short....though I'm sure I'll miss other things :-P
thanks for the view and the comment!
