Hi.

I am trying for a job post at a local games development company .. but all the samples i sent to them feature high polycount characters.. so they called back asking if they could see some low poly ones?

now i need a few basic info..
what is the maximum polycount for a games character ?
what is the texture size ( me thinks its 256 x 256 or 512 x 512 )?

also any help ful tips will help as well .

I plan to sent it to them a fully rigged and animated model..

thnx :)

Average poly count for current consoles is 3-5k polygons(depending on how complex the environment is and how many bad guys are in the screen at one time). Some games like DOA and a few others are using 15-20k models. Environments are much simpler and there are less characters on the screen at one time with a fighting game so you can have higher poly counts on the characters.
