Hi all, it's been a while since my last post about massive man. This time around im doing some enviroment stuff. Im going for a futuristic "Terminator" style world. Also this time i got more stuff to show since i've been busy.

this one i made 3 days ago i've been modelling more and did more with the lighting. I wasn't too happy with how suttle the volumic light was so i tweaked my lighting more yesterday and i got

i think i might have overdone it with the volumic lights. im starting to think the more suttle vers. would work better now.

***Update***
i got bored with my uv's so i got to rendering again.

not much to report on today im spending most of today laying out my uv's that i haven't touched in a month

ugh IMO uv layout is one of the most boring but impotant parts of 3D

i think i will go back and mess with my lights again if i get too bored with my uv's

well since uv's kinda suck i tried to do an update on my 1st post but it didn't update on the forum... so check the update.

oh on a side note i did kill my volume lights. im still on the fence on if i should keep them. they see, to be more of a distraction than help with my lighting

well you might want to change the brightness on those floor line lights to get a better composition.

Although I like your concept of the lights, when I first look at the image my eyes are too distracted by the lights and I keep following and looking at them instead of the center of the image. And the direction their pointing just makes it worse. My eyes keep diverting back to the edges then back to the other side of the image before I even see the teleporter.

I love your concept of the lines and its something I havent seen before but their just too bright and the teleporter is too dark.

Also you might want to add more detail to the scene. Hanging wires, some monitors, maybe like a work area desk to check the system. I like how you have the, I think glass, on the floor but if you were to think logically. Would someone really walk across that floor? You would have to look down the whole time to make sure you dont trip. So maybe raise those glass pieces or put something over the floor.

Other than that really good job.

Great job! Looks pixelated in some areas though.

thanks for the advice. yea the floor does seem uneven and i was concerned that the building lights were too bright since the teleporter is the focus i do have some other stuff in the works, but that will come later

its because i used the default setting for mentalray in maya

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v726/Fullgore911/may25.jpgi raised the glass but in this render i doesnt seem like it. I might make my strips embedded in the glass instead. added some glow and lowered the intensity of the volume lights. Also did some quick texturing. Currently i am rendering a simple fly-throught for an assignment for class. I will post a link when its done.
