Hey Andrea, welcome to the challenge (a bit late?!? :D)

Not much time left so you better hurry!

Good progress on the modeling. Think you will finish on time?

The modeling so far is fantastic! There are several triangle around the eye that can be joined into quads and maintain your edge flow. Your portfolio is very impressive! I just don't know how your going to finish this without sleep in 5 days. I hope you do though.

Thanks at all for the comments,

I think that the image could be better, expecially the reflection of the plain is not correct, it must be totally blurred but it take a lot of time for rendering and I chose to replace with that one (more simple reflection), other things like the suite of Linberg have not a lot of particolar, i loose a lot of time for the head(a thing not really important).
About the time, I decide that subject 15-20 days ago, I think that was a normal time to make an image....... not a world record, al lot of object inside the image are to simple, the difficult is the Spirit of Saint Louis.

thats all

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYBODY!

I start to work at that project 15-20 days ago, but I start to post it only 4 days ago (I have to finish a work and I had no time to post the work in progress till 4 days ago), if this is a question that put me out of the contest.....no problem, the important thing, for me, is it try to participate to the contest.

the Thunderbolt three slapper never looked so good.

J/K I loved that Ryan and the whole story. I was even developing a short film based on that flight. My partner on the film had to move on so it never "got off the ground"
we did come up with some good visual tests though.

Anyway this has a great feeling and I love the subject matter.

Wow, that's a very, very nice piece you're creating there! A great interpretation of the theme subject and very high quality throughout.

I really don't have much to crit. Nice work throughout. If anything, give your propeller a bit more of an airfoil shape. It's too flat at the moment and the top (forward) surface needs a bit of curvature. Think of a propeller pretty much as a twisted wing.

Again: very nice work!

PS. Out of curiosity, what renderer did you use for this?

I really appriciate your comments and critics, I know that you are a MASTER in Airplain modelling and render(your image are REALLY GREAT).
About the Render I used BRAZIL (I try with your great E-Light, but with brazil I have more control on the raytrace engine and the material)

I did read post. Still do not understand how this enters. I read this:

"i know that I'm in late, the Idea of project comes to me only two weeks later, I think to work all day and night and .... I hope to deliver all."

" About the time, I decide that subject 15-20 days ago, I think that was a normal time to make an image......."

"I start to work at that project 15-20 days ago, but I start to post it only 4 days ago (I have to finish a work and I had no time to post the work in progress till 4 days ago),"

And this:

"3. Participate in the Community by critiquing other challenger's works in the respective forums.
5. Submit Work In Progress images, obtain feedback and give feedback to other challengers in the WIP challenge. Note: Failure to do so may result in penalties during final judging. Community interaction is a must!"

And then this:

"It is recommended that entrants focus on physically small characters (bugs, Hobbits, Elves, Children, Faeries, birds, animals, micro robots - whatever) in a foreground setting against a vast backdrop of epic proportions (by comparison)."

Hallo vladskol,
I think that the post is a place where write some critics (positive or negative) about the image, not a place where to accuse the challanger.
I think to be honest, but if you think difference, please write to the challenge master, I have no problem, as I have said before, the important thing, is it try to participate to the contest, for me but probably not for you.

I did read post. Still do not understand how this enters. I read this:

"i know that I'm in late, the Idea of project comes to me only two weeks later, I think to work all day and night and .... I hope to deliver all."

That was true, I have to finish a work for my company and the client have the priority.

And this:

"3. Participate in the Community by critiquing other challenger's works in the respective forums.
5. Submit Work In Progress images, obtain feedback and give feedback to other challengers in the WIP challenge. Note: Failure to do so may result in penalties during final judging. Community interaction is a must!"

I think to be respective to the forum rule, also I give some feedback to other challenger.

And then this:

"It is recommended that entrants focus on physically small characters (bugs, Hobbits, Elves, Children, Faeries, birds, animals, micro robots - whatever) in a foreground setting against a vast backdrop of epic proportions (by comparison)."

Want me to read more?

It was recommended not obligatory, I think that if my image was over theme, must be the Judges that tell me.

At the end, I don't know why you have a problem with me, anyway ....

Best regards

I like your image very much. Not personal. But I had wanted to join Challenge also, but was late. Everyone has excuses and language problems and clients and family and more. But 3D Stills Showcase Gallery is different from Challenge pages. Or else everyone with entry for 3D Stills Showcase Gallery would dump images into Challenge pages pretending as entry. But must be different threads. Also I do not see community participation anywhere from you. The reason I post here is becuase I think this different nature is important for all people to think about. Sorry. I hope you understand.

Thanks for your answer,

I read the rules and I follow all the point, I'm in late but not over contest, I found the IDEA 15-20 days before the end of the contest, and I worked all day till late night to be on it.
I know that the comunity partecipation, on my thread, is not big, but there's, and I partecipated on other threads, as you can see if look at my post.
If my participation cause offence to someone, I'm sorry it was not my intention.

I want to start by saying that I absolutely love what you've done here. I really think you've achieved your goal from the beginning, which was to create that wonderful atmosphere! It really gives the piece that something extra, and that's what really distinguishes between great work and award winning work. And I hope people take that in fully when judging your work.

Having said that, I can see a few small problems with what you've done. The texturing on the plane is a little pixelated on the wing closest to the camera. Also, the pilot's clothes seem to have no texture, like they're made of plastic. Another thing is that the windsock tower doesn't seem to be taking as much light as it should be. It's a tall structure compared to what you've got in the foreground, so you'd think that they'd have almost full sunlight. It looks a little strange especially in front of a completely lit barn. The water tower also looks like it could use a little more light.

Apart from that, though, I'm wrapped! Best of luck for the competition and for the future!

Im glad you found a place to put your image. It looks great. But all are posted in like four days, not much of a WIP, it looks like you used a previous project. Im disapointed, because I worked long hours on mine too. I will be honest, I wish you luck but I will be very mad if you win. I doubt the judges look at entree times or this forum, so I wouldn't worry.

I love the metal around your engine, but the reflection of the mans head on the wing looks a little off, maybe to bright for the angle.

I think your lightings great, just one crit... the trees in the background should have some light too.

Sorry If have offended you, but you can always know your going to get my honest opinion.

Over-all image four star; as an entree suspicious:rolleyes:

Hi,
Thanks for comment, but I have to say "Have you read the previous post befor comment my submission", I don't think so.
How I said before, I start everythings 15-20 days before the end of the contest, not "4 DAYS", I start to post everything only 6-5 days befor the end.
How I say, I read the rules and I follow all the point, I'm in late but not over contest and I worked all day till late night to be on it.

I think tha 15-20days is a normal time to do an image when you have a clear IDEA.
