it's coming out pretty nice man. sorry to point stuff out now, seeing how you want to move on, but i just came upon your post.
just a couple of things:
the forehead slopes a bit funny, like a bit too far forward, same with the jaw. also, the crease for the cheekbone looks a bit to sharp, the sculpt poly tool > smooth could easily fix that. as for the fur for the eye lashes, can you some how change the direction to shift it more towards the corners of the eyes?
the ear & ear placement look really good turned out really well! keep up the great work!
:surprised -ill

nice modeling, expecially the ear ;)
I'm amazed that your nose came out so good while it seems like you neglected proportions on the rest of the face.
Everything looks pretty good, expect you needa spend a couple days tweaking it. Don't worry, you got the hard part done. The top lip is too big, and the eyes are WAY too big for starters.
Fix those first, then lemme see it.

01-14-2003, 03:37 AM
Thx for the Reply ThirdEye_01, and Neil, I will get to work on the head probably tomarrow after class, BTW this is my first High Poly Female Head If no bodyknew that, anyway here is the start of the body (1hr) still need to do alot of tweeking (specialy the boobs). Its not bad at all! the only thing that realy struck me tough when I first saw it was that the eyes look a little big. of course I dont know if you are going for a more anime look, if so then never mind. Also, the lips look a tad flat and the crease on the upper lip is a little harsh. Other than that, looks good.

01-14-2003, 07:38 AM
Ow! :surprised ...Okay, yeah, the boobs need work. They look like they've both been squished in from the sides, it's kinda scary. They shouldn't poke out that far, and they should look... like half-filled water baloons kinda resting on the slope of the ribcage. The distance between the upper part of the breast and the nipple should be much shorter than the distance between the nipple and the underside. Hope that makes sense.
Thelios
01-14-2003, 01:18 PM
 thx for the imput ChrisG, I will work on the eyes tonight during lab. Grarly : that make perfict sense and I havent really worked on the boobs yet This is just the basic body puportions Have another week to tweek on the torso. lol I take my time (lazy:D) But thx alot for criting me, very helpfull.

Alice
01-15-2003, 04:37 PM
it still feels like her jaw is far out there and the whole upper and lower jaw need to be pusched back a bit. Also the hips need some shaping and to be a bit bigger (looks male now)
But gj!
Thelios
01-15-2003, 07:40 PM
here is an update with fixes and more geo. I cant think of a good name for her, anybody know any good ones? tell me what you think

01-15-2003, 07:46 PM
wow man!
it's come a long way! looking very nice!
the head looks a lot better now & the neck looks great. heh ass ain' too shabby either  !
only things i can really comment on are the hips still being a bit small & the upper body... the sides running down from the shoulders to the waist seems a bit to angular, like it tapers in towards the waist too sharply. but that's just me, maybe tweaking the hips will make it look better.
keep it up man!

thx ill_logic, Yeah I was doing the extreems and tweeking out the details and flaws. But like everything there is always somthing that needs to be done. but will get on it as soon as I get some lunch. cheers:beer:
gnarlycranium
01-16-2003, 03:28 PM
Her torso is much too narrow-- it looks good in relation to the hips, but not the shoulders, breasts, or head. Scale up everything from the armpits down, except the breasts, and you'll be in business.
And your avatar makes me think of a little cartoony samurai dude. :D

Anyway, About the model, if you're looking for a name for her, how about CamelToe-Annie:surprised

Well your progression on the piece has been positive, I especially loved it when you asked for a tutorial on an ear and then you come bustin back with a really nice looking set of ears  . Where did you eventually find that tutorial at?
But she is coming along you are doing real well, keep on it.
Thelios
01-17-2003, 04:56 AM
thx for all the feed back,
Drakmarr: Someone emailed me or reminded me of a website I have been before, joan of arc tutorial, and has a really good well it was all very helpfull, here is the website. http://www.3dtotal.com/ffa/tutorials/max/joanofarc/joanmenu.asp
Goon: The "detail" down there is as far as I am going to go, but just adds more realism to her, if it hinders the project I can fix with a move of 3 verts:applause:
j9k_80: we all have thoughs moments. and how about no on the name. The thxs for trying. And yes it was to bumb my thread, plus I was board.
Anyway here is an update with a skin shader that my roomate (digital magi) found.
ill_logic
01-17-2003, 05:31 AM
right on! it's coming along. looks good with that shader on it. i'd put a bit harsher slope into the hips so they look like they stick out further. but very nice

well been busy with my Animating class so havent had much time to advance on my female but now I am back on and thought she would look better with hair, so I did a basic poly 80's style mohawk. but am now going to do paint effect hair for more realistic effect, but will keep poly for other tests. :buttrock:

Hey I'm in A3D now too, small world. How did your mid-term go?
I like your chicks punk hairdoo. You still using nurb or is she polys?
Keep working at it.

The first hairstyle is much better. The modeled one rather than the paint FX ver.
She looks scary with all that scalp showing through.
Keep up the good work though.

man, she`s a beauty - you can`t give her those punkhair :-)
why not model the style you made with the paintfx?
Thelios
01-30-2003, 02:13 PM
thx for the reply. good to hear feedback.
Strogoff: I was planing on doing just as you say.
Sonix: This paint effects turned out really bad, plus my comp was being a letdown ( gonna get new one soon) I did another paint effect hair test that was dynamicly driven by softbodys. finished that one in hafe the time with much better results, so might try it again with my chick. but I am going to try all sorts of styles and hair types tell I find the one that looks the best and wasent a pain in the a$$.:buttrock:
monkeysweat:, it came out ok for how not into it I was. I really wasent feeling that project. hopefully the final turns out better. Plus I have to take CSE over again next month so am going to animate IK Joe doing some cool finalfantasy'ish rune fireball thingy. dident turn out to well on my hawk.
Thx guys for replying and will have another update sometime in the next few days.
