This is my latest LightWave project, a Soviet T-55 tank.
Everything but the treads is animatable at this stage, im going to have to figure out a way to animate those.
Parallel to this im writing an extensive tutorial on how to build another tank, the venerable WW2 era T-34.
:wip: :wip:

How many polys ?
Cuz' I did a Land Raider, and it's about 400000polys, which is far way too much.
I can decrease it, but maybe not that much.
SO I'd like to know how many there's in your tank.

Thanks for the comments! :)

BiTMAP: Are you referring to this method? http://www.cgfocus.com/ArticleDetails.cfm?ArticleID=118
I tried it and it works "ok" for the first few frames, but after that it begins to morph back and forth in a very odd way.
I'd love to know any other techniques you know.

cANT: I simply modelled it. :wip: Nothing weird about it, just lots of polygonpushing and hundreds of Boolean operations.

Commander Falk: As of now the scene has app 131k polygons. For me when i model a model like this, the polycount is not really an issue. I just want the details in there. :D

Here's another method : http://3dvf.com/tutoriaux/lightwave/anim/chenilletank/part1.php3?PHPSESSID=d813aac4f66e112631a2acc65892a56b
That's in french, but translated, so I think there's an english original one, but sorry, I don't know where.

131k ? Mmh... My Land raider is 400k without the tracks... Argh !

Mmh... I also forgot to congratulate you in ly first post, lots of details !
