I'm sure there are many image compression applications available. However, I use Adobe Image Ready (which comes packaged with Photoshop) to compress all of my images.

If you use photoshop6 or higher, you can use the Save for Web function. It gives the same functionality as Image Ready, except for the multiple optimization views. Plus the image size in K is far more accurate than just saving it as a jpg.
True, but try this ...
Do a save for web from Photoshop and use Image Ready to compress the same image. You'll find that the file size is bigger on the Photoshop save. I don't know why that is ... seems like it should be using the same compression techniquess. :shrug:
