Hi waheed,

again an interestin evolution. It is always inspiring to see people stretch beyond their usual ways.

The way you create lighting in the sky is absolutely classical. I wish you would do a painting in which the light in the sky plays a dominant role, like in an painting by Turner (the one where the houses of Parliament are on fire, e.g., don't know the exact title)

Also, the little details in the foreground (flowers, great colour choice there, btw. - and the swans) in contrast to the misty distance work very well. I gotta say that you are someone whose colour choices are always a bit surprising at first glance and then reliably create a high emotional impact - I'd love to be able to do that.

The one thing I don't feel comfortable about is about the composition. I read this as a kind of iconic composition and while the mountain plays this sort-of-spiritual role very well up there, I sort of get hindered in my visual path by the void more distant part of the lake. Maybe it is too placid to really push me upwards to the peak.

On the other hand I might be unfair, because I had to think of C.D. Friedrichs "Der Watzmann" when I saw this, in which he takes you by the hand in the lower third of the painting and leads you way up into the clouds.
You probably did not have that in mind.

Argh. I write too much...:scream:
But your paintings never leave me cold so I just have to...:)

That is just cool, soo tranquil and pleasing :)

I particularly like the swans and the detail in the weeds and pond water around them :)

Its a really well painted piece and I like it - well done.

ShadowDN1, mu, Nemes and jose...:)...thank u so much for the appreciation....im glad...:).
mu, the way u observe my every effort in my work is always appreciated, thank u for that.
i know what u mean by the lake as a hinderance. i planned the thing that way, actually, i wanted to have quite a few level in this work, the foreground, the near lake, the middle part, then the lake at far, the land (sort of hills) and then those mountains at the back, i tried to use light to guide u as well as the varied shapes from bottom to top. and when i checked that myself, when i was close to finish this, my eyes had a path to follow to reach at the top (peak). i might have made things clearer...:). i appreciate your input. will keep this point in my mind.
about that Turner's painting, i think u are talking about "The Burning Of The Houses Of Lords And Commons", (1835, oil on canvas), a very powerful work indeed...:). and i know what u are talking about, lets see, i might paint something like that, soon...:).
u writing too much? even if thats right, i like reading it...:). i know u are a writer as well, a good one, it shows.

thank u so much everyone once again...cheers.
