View Full Version : Thanks to all of you! [This Brazil rs glass rocks ...]
phoenixart 01-08-2003, 11:52 AM I'm learning so much here.
I want to thank all of you for your invaluable help.
As example of what I've recently learned here, here's an image that I've created thanks to the glass thread started by ThirdEye_01.
And here're some useful links:

Nice glass! You might want to put a little fresnel in the transparency channel, or if you have some already bump it up just a bit.:thumbsup:

Thanks guys -
AdamT, yes I've already the fresnel in the transparency channel.
Btw, did you mean this?

I've increased the black in the fresnel shader ... but I think that I'm missing something beacuse the image now looks too dark.

It looks like you have the fresnel gradient reversed, i.e., you need to swap the white and black sides. It's supposed to be less transparent at the edges than in the middle--a result of increased refraction I think.

I just wanted to say thank you for your wonderful site, one of the best collection of C4D resources I have seen, will rember this one from now on when people ask

Hmm ... it's strange Adam.
I've swapped the white and black, but the result ...

Thanks Kaiskai -
I will add a linkage page to photo resources, it could be a nice way to find inspiration.
My little contribute to this wonderful community.

Er, it would appear I was wrong then. :( Could you maybe post a scene with the material just applied to a sphere or something?

AdamT, here're the settings:
color:
r255/g255/b255
brightness 0%
transparency:
r255/g255/b255
brightness 255%
refraction 1.24
fresnel = checked
additive = checked
+ Fresnel (I've attached an image about the fresnel)
http://www.phoenixart.com/pub/fresnel.gif
specular:
width: 20%
height: 150%
fallof: 20%
That's all.
