A couple very good looking Maya books are coming next week. I was hoping to get your opinions on which one will be better for the beginner in Maya? I have experience with Lightwave and Max,but have come over to Maya just recently.
I know it's tough to know now,but I was hoping a few of you experts would know a little more than I do now? Perhaps you have heard something I have missed.

And the other one here:

Well thanks for any advice you can give.

Well, both books look really good and I know I will get both of them, but for a beginner, I suggest you get maya 4.5 fundamentals because of the video tutorials enclosed in the CD. But if you have enough money, get both.

i had trouble working through books.. it was slow... and my eyes went crazy looking back and forth between the books and Maya... =(

so i went with the Gnomon videos... and.. i don't think i will ever go back.. tho i just ordered a book about programming Mel... but that isn't bad.. but it was the looking back and forth... just drove my eyes nuts....

but i really did enjoy Maya 4 Fundamentals tho :)
