what is the best way to create a muscle system in maya ?
any plugins available yet ?

The best way's just to model the muscles yourself. Some people use them as influence objects, there was an intersting post here a couple of days ago by a guy who said the best way was to use dynamics somehow (was it rigid/soft bodies something to do with that).
I think I have seen a plug-in for maya (there's more than one available for MAX so it may have been one of those), maybe called something like "absolute character tools" or something like that, but from the anims on their website it looked quite crap!

thanks , yes there is ACT for max , I think it will be available for maya around february (public beta)

the blendshapes will work fine for muscle deformations. it's cool.
