Very cool model. :)

The proportions are perfect, but it could use one more finger on each hand.

good looking model.

What catches my eyes most are the boots. They look clumsy (i am not native english speaker...). And not feminine. Give a look at womens fashion magazines and doodle a bit. In my opinion it is worth re-try. (I mean that the rest of the design deserves more agile and feminine looking boots :) )

(the finger comment is kind of valid too)

i would suggeat that you make the legs longer.............as bigbad said the porportions are perfect, but i think that a fembot would have longer 'sexyer' legs

also was this rendered using max 5's GI?

thank you guys for the comments...

this is the concept image i started with, as you can tell the character has evolved beyond this point..

anyways, about the boots... this character is being built to fight martial arts style.. I'm not totally for sure what to do with boots since it would be kind of hard to fight with high heels... I feel that her feet being slightly exagerated and a bit masculine, help to bring out the fighter aspect a bit..

I have also attached an image of some shoe compilation that I have gathered. Forewarning you it is 1.6 megs:

and yes, this was done using max's new light tracer... heh, I don't have time to do the radiosity feature, each frame takes approx 50 mins to render... I don't intend to take the polygon count down because i'm doing this for my demo reel... Anyways, thanks for the comments again..

Cute character you have;) And very nice materials, simple but effective.

Only thing that's wrong are hands - they are bit too small and definitely need at least one more finger, better two. That'd be more humanoidal, and as she is built to fight, bigger fist is better then smaller.

juntao : how were you able to guess that this was a max 5 render?

i've done a few GI renders with max's light tracer and the shadows look pretty much the same. most max renders have this 'feel' to them that i can usually pick up on...........i'm sure you know what i'm talkin about

ok, in this picture, you get to see the render that 9 hours. i hope you like it.

- changed the hands to fit 3 fingers
- added more reflective paint on the character
- lengthened the legs a tad

she is done.
now to finish the second character.

one minor issue, the light grey tex on the leg is a render glitch... i'll find a workaround

thanks everyone for support and comments
i'll keep you posted on the other character...

personally... i have problems with the boots for different reasons. depending on the martial artist, she'd probably want to be able to move her toes forward...

unless she's only doing savate (but i don't really know much about that boxing art... only a little). At any rate, i'd say that the heel part limits mobility... which may or may not be what you want.

The size doesn't really bother me.. but maybe the shapelines could be worked on to make it feminine... (personally i'd prolly make them big, but thats just my freaky ideas... i don't really give a rats about proportion... kick ass feet/calves is peach)

As for the hands... well depending on what kind of martial art too i'd say that they were kinda small for gripping anything. personally i'd say whether or not there were two or three fingers is kinda moot, but the hands are tiny for fighting and the thumb is pretty dang useless with only 2 joints...

wow, great, i was expecting something from austin powers but this is much cooler. about the boots, they do look a bit clumbsier than human feet.. also, i noticed that she will not be able to move as good as a human because of the type of joins youve used for the arms and legs, they allow no rotation (apart from the hand), which is a very large limiting factor, but it might be a bit late to change this...
