View Full Version : Blurred layer ---> edges wont come right

Greetings to all gurus out there,

When overlaying gaussian blurred layer with other layer (original footage) the edges wont come right. Edges are brighter.

I looks like blurring "shrinks" the actual footage. Can I blur my footage in a way that it is equally blurred from every part of the frame...I dont want edges to come more transparent.

...aarh sorry my english.. hope you this makes some sense..

the blur will sample outside the image in order to do the blur, and that will make the edge apear to shrink, is that what you mean?
some blurs can fix the edgeblur problem, dont remember which ones right now, but if everything else fails, you can create a slightly larger comp and fill the black area with something, maybe just a scaled-up version of the same image behind it so the colors match, then apply the blur to that pre-comp inside the original comp which has your real resolution
