View Full Version : Maya 7.0 will not load
RyanMVDL 05-19-2006, 02:39 PM I can get it to install and load on my roommates computer. On mine I cannot get it to load only install. After dbl clicking on the Icon It just sits at the loading graphic screen. It does not run through scripts it just sits there saying maya loading. This is even the Maya 7.0 PLE. Im wondering how to trouble shoot this. Anyone have any ideas? I have duel amd 2400's, 1 gig of ram, ATI radeon 9600 pro, tyan tiger mother board...... Someome has suggested that it could be a issue with ports being open. I have turned off all firewalls..still not working. Maybe I could force open a port that Maya likes to use but I dont know what that is.
I thank any and everyone who takes the time to reply to this post.

This sounds like an issue for Alias customer support...

Thats what I thought...so I called them and they said that they only offer support for paying customers not for maya PLE. They guy on the phone said ask the forums, so I did on autodesk's site as well as this one. :(

Then try this:
Navigate to the ZoneAlarm install folder and run imf_editor. Set 'filter all apps except blacklisted' to ON then in blacklist browse to Maya.exe to add it. Click Apply and try running Maya again. If it still doesnt work, you can also try uninstalling Zonealarm temporarily to see if it fixes your prob, and if it does then you might need to switch to another firewall...

I fixed it by un-installing windows SP2.
Let the games begin :)
