Hey Gandan,

Welcome to cgtalk...I noticed it was your 1st post.

Well, that's an amazing piece of work. I'm not even sure you need to color this one in (if that was what you were thinking). I'm a huge fan of detailed b&w artwork like this. It reminds of of illustrated fantasy books I read as a kid.

Is she Athena?

Hmmm...it's a beautiful piece of work. The only thing that looks slightly off to me is the depth behind your female character. Your foreground elements are working great and the background elements look really good, but I don't get the sense of depth from the background as I do from the foreground.

Keep up this great work and keep posting!

Alec

Not much I can say, splendid art work, amazing. You might not get too many feedback because this is a 3D oriented place, but it's one hell of a piece of work. What inspires you to draw this?

Thank you ACFred and vorlon for posting on this thread.

ACFred: Thank you for welcoming me! The original intention for the drawing was to render it in colour. But i'm currently midway on another drawing that i will post here too. I will eventually colour it. No, she is not Athena. The costuming of the character is indeed base on the Greek drawings and a little fantasy blanded together to get or hope to get an original feel. Yes, i notice the depth too. I do hope colour might help mute the problem.

vorlon: Thank you. I am sad to hear that. But eventually i will try 3D too. the inspiration i get is from nature and some GREAT old masters work.

I promise to keep on posting.

Hi all,

This is a simple drawing of another character in i hope will be a series. She is a Druid of the wild. IT is much much simpler than the above drawing.

All crit will be much welcome.

Me likey the second one very much. That is really nice. The only crit I have is with the dragons eye. Its hard to tell if its open and theres no iris/pupil or if closed.
Is that second one still in progress, meaning are you going to add the detail, shading like you did in the first one? No opinion either way just curious.

great great artwork man!

I dig the dragons eye, tho I see it as being open, just witha crazy pupil.

MORE MORE! :bounce:

Hi all,

Xaya: I am glad that you like it. Too long to finish.

aurora: I wanted to put more information in the 2nd drawing. I was advice to make it less detail to make room for a colour rendition. I'll see where the colour will take me. I want to see if this is a proper direction.

KingMob: Thanks! Yes, the eye is open. There are more underway.

Currently i manage to block out a new scene with another character in it. Will post up as soon as i finish.

Oh, by the way. Is there any comment on how i can improve it and the direction i should take my drawings?

The only comment I can think of is that, especially in the first one, there is so much detail in everything that the females arms and face seem alittle unfinished. However I also see this as a great focus drawing contrast to the enviroment around her and assumed it was part of the style depicting subtle grace and beauty but still the power of strength. In other words no I have nothing to say! I really like what I see.

great work man.

Although I must admit I am a color freak. I do wonder if you feel you need to add color to this piece? It's your choice if you want to add color it to.

I personaly don't like to give my original line work as much detail as you did. I enjoy having the color create all detail for me.

I wonder about what your coloring work is like. I don't want to be greating..... So I will beg instead. Can we see some of you colored work? Your line work is great, and I'm eager to see your coloring.

If you need any tips on your work, I'm certain we're all here to give you creative critiques.

Whoops! I ment "Greedy" not "greating" I have no idea how I let that slip pass. Sometimes I speak before I think, it's a bad habbit.
