Hi all....

This is a small initiative regarding maya 8 - dynamics whislist.

1. we need viscous property for maya particles.

2. for collision with objects, the (blobby)particle should take the surface , not the center of the particle.

Dynamics, ey!

Well there are many things to add but the most important i think would be:
1. Water type particle, not like fluids or blobby surfaces. More realistic.
2. If fluids is part of it, Able to render in diffrent renderer.
3. Active/Ridged bodies with deform on impact.

Can't think of anymore.

I agree and would ask for reflective fluid shading and better particle integration with the ocean shader/fluids generally. Breaking waves would be a killer feature and something like afterburn. I love Peter Shipkovs version but it s quite hard to use.
And: a visualization for force fields (something like the velocity draw in fluids).
Too late for maya 8 now i guess but maybe they make it in 8.5?

uhh huuuu 8] this pretty cool.

my wish is, i dont know if its possible, but Fluids should only calculates VoxelData near the area where it takes effect. So calculating Fluids will be speeded up.

1) Maya 64-bit, so I can work with fluids faster.
2) Particle sampler info working with Mental Ray (this may work with Maya 7 or mrLiquid, haven't tested in a bit).
3) Integrate Nima/Novodex into Maya. The current rigid body system is practically unusable.
4) Better shatter script.
5) A beefed up particle instancer, which can work better with animation/time offsets.
6) Inter-particle collisions (which could eventually be built into a fluid dynamics system for particles)

I dont if there will be Maya 8 !! but if so, i wish that Maya dynamics include realflow dynamics and fluids kind of stuff, and my biggest dream about dynamics, fluids and particles that i find it fast in calculation instead of waiting hours and hours for my simulation to get done.

i've had access to maya 8 for the last month and a half, for beta testing, and I've used it once to play with, and not properly really. I can't confirm if any of these things are in it, mainly cause I just looked through the menus for new stuff before having to go back to work.

Total playing time, 5 min.

Additive/Subtractive rendering for hardware sprites would be nice. Oh!..and hardware glow. Or maybe just the ability to hardware render particles using HLSL shaders.
Update the instancer so you can offset instances in time. Having to create multiple copies of your object and offsetting keyframes for each one is a royal pain. Especially when you're animating vertex color/alpha. (I swear I'm not copying you, Jason)
Not dynamics related, but... an animatable visibility percentage attribute (for objects) would be spiffy.

bounce, friction and sticky properties for fluids.

1. Metaball particle type
2. Proceduralized particles (much like Houdini's .. however, fat chance)
3. Voxel Particle type (not the fluid hack, like LW.. simple volume voxel.. clouds blow)
4. Instancer Object baking (bake the instanced objects to live geometry with keys)
5. INCORPORATE STROIKA DIRECTLY INTO MAYA!

I could have many more .. but.. people have expressed other "wants" :) ...

1: More Support the Method of OverBurn or Afterburn like pipeline...
(At least.... let me rotate my fluidShape Texture...after I assign to particle)

2: MentalRay support "particleSamplerInfo".....(Many People Have mention that already.....)

3: Make Fluid Render and Sim Faster.....

4: Fluid won't have container.... I mean the solver can auto resize and extend the container while simulation....

5: Particle Render at least support what "renderman for maya" can supported now... like particle self-shadow, all hardware particle should be able to render in software render..

buy blender or the whole team working on it and integrate everything into maya...
