View Full Version : I have a question pertaining to Trapcodes Particular
visualchaosfx 05-19-2006, 02:44 AM Hey ya'll,
I was wondering if there is a way to create these melting particles that are eminating from that bright ball explosion in the middle there, in this battle sequence between Voldemort and Harry Potter?

I have Trapcodes Particular for After Effects.
And I have a second question:
How would I go about doing digital interactive lighting? Here is an example found at the Whatisbroken website.

Create the particles in a sub-comp. Then use this layer in your main comp, blur it and apply Alpha Bevel, Colorama or similar effects to "blobbyfy" it.

Create masks and use blend modes like add or screen. If you're working with data from 3D programs, plugins such as RevisionFX' RE:Map or Stefan Minning's Normality will help.

Hmmm.... never thought of that. I'll give it a whirl. Thanks.

Hey that works great. Thanks for the tip. I duplicated my footage and masked out the area where it would have the interactive lighting and then I feathered the mask and applies a color balance to it. Works great. Bloody brilliant!!
