Anyone knows a good Movie Maker program/Editor? Something where I could make up a DVD of some sort and stuff?

Thanks in advance.

Avid, FCP and premiere are the 3 biggest desktopeditors. but it's hard to answer questions containing the words "dvd of some sort and stuff". maybe you want to elaborate what it is you plan to do.

Well there are two programs I use for putting together and cutting footage. You didn't say which platform so I'm assuming Windows which is what I use.

One is Vegas Video from Sony. They have two versions depending on how much you want to do (and pay). Both can author a DVD.

The other program I've used for many versions is Adobe Premiere. It's not as easy to learn as Vegas but integrates well with After Effects and Photoshop.

For short projects ( < 10 minutes) where I need to have tons of control I've found using a compositor such as After Effects to be the best choice as it offers keyframing and effects that you don't find in the traditional "Cut and chop" video editors.

As for the Mac there is Final Cut Pro ($$$) and the cheaper iMovie if your needs are very small. I've used Final Cut Pro and it is quite capable.
