View Full Version : Landscape programs and Lightwave??
Infinity3d4life 01-08-2003, 02:39 AM Just wondering if any of you used any landscape generators in conjuction with Lightwave..? I wanted to know which one you could recommend to get good results.. I know you can build landscapes in lightwave it's just that i lack the texturing skill that would make them look good, or realistic... If anyone has any suggestions then feel free to toss them my way.. Even if you could suggest some plugins that i could buy that might help me out to do landscaping in Lightwave alone that would be fine...

I have extensivley used Vue De' Sprit, a fabulous landscape generator by e-on software. This company is very pro lightwave, for they have sky generation plug-ins for lightwave. The best feature, one that i think will intrest you, is a brand new Export to Lightwave feature. Allowing you to export the landscapes (including those amazing trees!). Just go to the site, read about it and dload the demo if your tempted. Amazing program.

There is also a little know program called Natural Scene Designer made by Natural Graphics that I have. It's not too bad and inexpensive. Doesn't hold up as well to to Vue d'sprit type programs, but still does a fair job
Here is the web site if you wanna check it out

I'd recommend Terragen. This has LW export, and can export some pretty good landscapes.
Oh, and it's free!
