View Full Version : Strange graph values - bug or my stupidity ?
SFR75 05-18-2006, 10:56 PM Hello,
Unless this is an AfterEffects bug, I think I'm missing something.
Let say the object is moving up and then down.
So there are three keys: beginning, upmost position, and down position.
However after easing the interpolation, I get really crazy situation
when after the object is still moving up past upmost position.
The graph in AE7 confirms this. How is it possible ? am I missing something ?
Please help! :(

Umm, I think you're missink something. Just easing does not guarantee smooth graphs. Bčzier interpolation can still overshoot. You also have to keep in mind that temporal and spatial interpolation are treated separate in AE, so adjusting just one won't affect the other.

Well, thanks for your answer, but it didn't explain what happend.
As you said - temporal and spatial interpolation are treated separate.
But what I observe is exactly the opposite - smoothing temporal graph
actually changed the positioning (object moving PAST it's maximum keyed position!).

That indeed shouldn't happen.
