Title: Iraqi AOUD (guitar)
Name: Giath Shafeeq Al_bazi
Country: Iraq
Software: 3ds max, Photoshop

The instrument you see in the picture above is called the AOUD, and it was originally invented by indians, but was later developed by the arabs to get its current shape. From the Aoud, the Europeans developed what is called the LUTE, and from that the GUITAR was developed.

u can hear it lovely tones

good work but I think it will look better if you put it in a different background or scene
maybe a simple interior scene
also the unwrapping on the edge of the aoud looks wiered you need to fix those uvs
textures look too clean also and try not use max standard textures (the hull of the aoud has a max standard texture)
keep up the good work

Nice job mate. I agree with another background with some traditional theme. Maybe an old carpet, or another traditional instruments? keep up the good work!

I like the modeling. But there's something about the materials & lighting... I may be wrong but I think there should be more specular effect on bumped surfaces of aoud, because aoud looks like It hasn't been varnished. Also it looks already reallistic anyway, so I'm not sure.

Aouds are being played in Turkey too. I like the sound of them but especially I'm the slave of the sound of KANUN (phrase may be wrong, sorry).

Keep up the good work!

hello Cem

u right but when i add mat. i want it be like that coz the real AOUD not like other wooden furniture
i heard that they put Aoud wood in water about 50 years before they made it coz the wood kind and wood cells saturation affect on its sound and this make all Aouds seems like that

:) thank u so much IDA
