View Full Version : Geometry comstrained to nurbs surface?
Slugger 01-07-2003, 10:53 PM Hello,
how to constrain a surface(patch/nurbs patch or whatever) to another nurbs surface prefferably offset aswell?? so whenever the constrained surface is moved it always "sticks" to the nurbs surface. As I recall it this was a breeze in Max, is there any easy way of doing this kind of stuff in Maya?
Cheers,

Man you should really read the help files before asking questions like this!
Theres a thing called a geometry constraint, under character setup in the docs. You can offset and everything, piece of pee

playmesumch00ns,
I do read the help files every now and then, in this case to, see the thing with geometry contraint is that it doesn't deform the on the knot/vertex level of things(or I must be doing something wrong ,I can't get it to work), have also tried with nurbs circle on nurbsgeometry, that works to, but how to cap the nurbs circle then, sorry for my infinite stupidity, Cheers,

is you want to deform the surface too, use the wrap deformer.

After thoroughly reading and searching the help files, I cannot figure out how to offset a geometry constraint. How's it done?
