Now that's just too cool. Seriously, of all the PR's I got this morning from Apple, this was the most interesting.

See nwo this is a kool idea. A little overpriced, should be genuine leather for that tag, but cool.

Only thing is, people who see other wearing this, they aren't going to want to rip them off? Or just out of malice, slice your nice 500 jacket ? Granted extreme, but so are the days of getting shot over a pair of nikes?

LOL!!

I am looking forward to the iPeeDaily. Think they are stuck working out the short circuiting problems.

When i was reading the article Sheep Factory pinned up there. I was invisioning in amazement how the jacket would resemble something like Marty McFly's future Son's gear.

When i actually seen what it looked like,(Cheers Beaker) it pretty much looked kinda ordinary. Although a glowing logo would definatly set the standards for a new era of fashon, And it would set a highlight that we are all living in a digital age.

And the price ?.........Maybe that interesting chick magnet ( if you play the right tunes ) can let off some serious loudness for what it appears to be.

I totally agree on that one... The design could be more 'apple-ish'...

But then again, they would have a smaller chance of selling the jackets... Not because the iPod feature isn't kewl or nescessary to the customer, but because of the fact that a fashionable jacket could look bad on anyone.

I think thats why they've chosen a universal design, pure marketing... :annoyed:

I on the other hand would like a design that makes you look like an Imac :buttrock:

you can use an ipod while snowboarding!!? aren't they just small harddrives? i was under the impression that you had to be sort of nice to them.

Ipod has a really big ram buffer for like 20 minutes of preloading audio files so it doesnt skip. I always thought 20 minutes was overkill, but it makes alot of sense in this situation.

The drive isn't spinning all the time, either; it starts it up to load the RAM buffer, then spins down again(you can just hear it when you put your ear to it). In fact, this gives rise to two minor annoyances: plugging it into Windows keeps the drive going which quickly heats up the little guy, and it has a tendency to pause in odd places when loading the next track, which can be mildly annoying on live albums.

It's apple, dude. Kind of a left leaning company. It's not like they are gonna kill cows for this.

Actually, I don't think this jacket is necessary to go snowboarding with the iPod. I just usually put my iPod in the pocket of my ordinary snowboard jacket and run the remote control down through the sleeve and into the palm of my hand. This way I have instant control over the volume and such for the times when there are a lot of people around and you need to be able to hear. It looks the problem with the Burton jacket is that you would have to stop and open that flap every time you wanted to turn it down or change a song.
The iPod changed my life - all my music everywhere I go:thumbsup:
Now someone needs to make a snowboard helmet with built-in headphones..

Mechman - I haven't noticed the pause during playback on mine....

man! some of you guys would exclusivly buy iToilet paper if they made some!

Meats: exactly what i was thinking! Common sense thank you. What if its the summer time and i want to use my ipod? oh i have to buy the loose one too!
They should make accesories for it instead, like an ipod holster with wire going to remote control glove or wrist band.

i think burton made a similar jacket for a sony player a couple months ago...

and it would cost 10$ a roll because apple would market it as a "superroll", capable of more wipes per sheet than your average roll. Plus it sparkles and glows in the dark and changes color when you wipe, allowing you to see which parts are still good for usage. And for user friendliness will have graphic instructions on each sheet and user hotline numbers.

Folks, get a grip...

Seems like if it has Apple in the name, then the dishing must ensue...

First, YOU DO NOT NEED A SPECIAL IPOD FOR THIS JACKET!!!

Second, YOU DO NOT NEED TO OPEN THE JACKET EVERY TIME YOU WISH TO CHANGE SONGS OR VOLUME!!!

As to how it works with gloves, that is another issue...

Third, THE IPOD DOES NOT COME WITH THIS JACKET!!! It is a seperate purchase...

Jeez...

Ahh, the yelling.
I thought that there was a little flap on the control panel that you had to open to get to the controls, that is what I was talking about having to open, not the jacket itself.
I still say having a control directly in your hand would be much preferable than trying to hit those small buttons with big gloves as you are flying down the mountain.
Don't get me wrong, though - I think that Apple did a great job with the iPod and Burton with the jacket, I just don't think it's a necessity is all......
