really cool. the hair is beautifully executed and the lighting/texturing really comes alive.
her cheeks appear a little puffy, but I don't know your model, and real people aren't all made to my skewed idea of perfection anyway ;)

i love the drawing too.
I think one thing that needs work is the lighting. Right now its too uniform. Other than that i dont have any crits.
Well, I really love the face and hair. It's nice that you didn't go with the stereotypical looking blonde chick. The characteristics of the face (puffy cheeks and slightly droopy eyes) adds so much to the personality. Don't change that at all.
However, what could use some work is the neck down. I believe that the neck is too long and the shoulders aren't wide enough. Shoulder to shoulder should be roughly 3 heads wide. The neck I think should meet the chest at about the same point where you have the top of her collar.
It would also improve the image if you added more of the blue highlights to her neck and shoulders. It seems like the light source is only focused on her face, which is a bit confusing.
I'd also work the environment a bit more to maybe suggest where the light is coming from. Is it a blue neon sign? A wierd magic spell? K-Mart blue light special (those of you not from the US might not get that joke)?
Anyway ... good picture. It just needs more refinement.

p.s: the model as actually my girlfriend, but i did this from memory, so it does not look that much like her.

Hmmm ... didn't notice the lips until you mentioned it. Upper lip is lighter than the lower one, which usually is reverse unless it's lit from below. So, darken the upper one and add blue highlight to the bottom one and that should fix it.

hello again,
I have this little update to the portrait. I think I was able to correct every thing I wanted and that you sugested.
the thing is, the lips... still bother me. oh and buy the waym, the main light is from below and a little to de right. there's bothe a light from the top right and a blue backlight.
that's it I think.
tip away (please)

Very nicely rendered, and especially since you haven't used any refs(except for your memory). :)
All crits have already been mentioned. Maybe you should add a little more of that blue light to the hair that falls down her forehead; just at the edge there(the part closest to the forehead), and only at the upper part of it.
(that sentence could've been sooo much shorter if my english was better...... )
Very nice work - almost looks like a 3D render! :)

so, what I'm getting is that you don't like de background, and that you think the chick is ugly?
well, i think I could do something about the bbackground.
but the girl... I mean... is she that ugly? I kind of like her face :)
any way, that's not in discussion.
but thank for the replays.
as before, as soon as I get an update I'll post it.

i think its just her head is a little long which is accented by her chin so maybe thats increasing her bad looks :)
still you made an ugly chick look good :)
