I'm x-posting this from lwg3d.com, it's kinda died over there.. any help would be appreciated

Please see ther est of teh thread here: Thread @ LWG 3d (http://lwg3d.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=9661)

Heah Everyone..
I'm doing Dan Ablans tutorials (INside Lightwave 7).
But have come across something kinda wierd...
When I do his "SkyScrapper" Tutorial, I seem to have some wierd polys pop out. I tried to get a screen grab, but the computer shutdown on me this morning.
What happens is this:
1) Create the Points,
2) Select the ponts,
3) Create Poly (p key)
4) Extrude Poly 550 m up
5) Try to do the 3 bevels
-> This is wher eit happens on the 2nd and 3rd bevelks.. I get polys on ALL for sides of the structure that jut out (Away) from the structure and the wireframe going to these points looks twisted..
Does that make any sense?
I've done it like 4 or 5 times.. same thing every time.. I'm guessing it's how I select the points.. I am unsure..
Any help would be appreciated.. I have the scene file saved (before I crashed this am) to where I have all the points, but not the poly created..

Reduce the amount of points or else you're going to have to manually adjust them because of intersecting points...happens to text when you try this too....:)

Sounds like your points are overlapping on the Bevel operation. Oftentimes, if you've got (relatively) closely spaced points and do a bevel, the point freak the hell out when they cross. Check out Bevel++ - I don't have the address on me right now, but a search through Flay.com should bring it up. It's $30 or so, but oh so worth it.

P.S. - I take too long to type! Remi's post wasn't there when I started. He's right though, you'll have to move the offending points manually.

If I'm reading this correctly it might just be that the default bevel settings aren't working well in this instance.

Hit the "n" key to bring up the numeric requester after you've hit the "bevel". Try playing with the "shift" and "inset" values. It's quite possible they are minus values... try changing those to postive and give that a go.

I'm not familiar with that tut so I'm only guessing, it's hard to tell without a picture.

Yup...too many points:surprised Bevel++ should work for you or you'll have to move the points manually...sorry:shrug:

I tend to get that problem with text when even using a few points... still trying to figure that one out.
