View Full Version : Tree Frogs
j2cool 05-17-2006, 07:52 PM Hi this is some animation of some frogs on a piece of paper, its for a pretend advert for a printer, the frogs are printed and they then come to life and jump off the page. Blendshapes have yet to be added. This is a playblast straight from maya.

so you're looking for crits on the animation only right?
If so, the only comment I have to make is that the movement is a little bit robotic, especially after the jump. I know frogs are a little like this....robotic, that is, but I think they could use a little bit more 2ndary animation, even if it's soooo slight.
after looking at your clip a few more times, i'm actually not sure that it needs anything at all.
Looking forward to a more finished render!

Hi Everyone,
here is an update of the frogs, they now have subtle blenshape animation and they deform the paper. It was also a test for us rendering in HD at 1280 x 720.
The frogs are yet to have the zbrush bump map applied. 2D motionblur was added in After Effects and there is no ambient occlusion pass yet.

Wow, this animation is spot on. I agree that the motion does look a bit robotic, but it imitates the frogs movement because of it. Looking forward to seeing a final render.
