Hey ,

Have you ever used a graphic tablet for Lightwave ... is it as great as I heard ? ... or should I stick to the old-fashioned way... the mouse...
Another dilemma : A4 or A6 ?

Thanks

I find using a tablet is much less constraining and much more natural than a mouse.

See if you can borrow one or something, I've met a few people that don't like it and it freaks them out trying to model with it.

Also the size of the tablet is very much down to you. I use A4 but for many that feels too big as they don't like to move their arm to stretch across the tablet. A6 is probably too small, most use A5 if A4 is too big for them.

It's expensive so I'd say try it first if you can.

btw , Proton , do you ship LW 7.5 Discovery Edition to Romania... ? ... none of my friends got it ... I'm using 3dsmax ... but I want to switch to Lw... I really like the Lw6 demo I have now... but it's old...

A tablet is very useful, you can't do with a mouse what you could do with a tablet. A4, A6 it's only a matter of money. I have a small tablet, it's enough to make good stuff.

I only use my wacom in Lightwave for things like vertex paint or "painting" subpatchweights. And that's on rare occasions.

I haven't tried to use it for the drag tool yet, but that could be a good idea.

Intuos
Get the airbrush, too. Not the mouse as you can keep the wired one connected, too.

Love it for EVERYTHING !!
Having to use a mouse is weird anymore. Typing with a stylus in hand is much easier than the mouse, too. hehe

uncommongrafx, you can use the old mouse and the tablet in the same time ?

Yup!

I keep one attached for when others sit at my station. They'd have to pry the stylus out of my ...

But yes, the tablet plugs into the serial port and the mouse stays in the mouse port. Works well.

I won't give it up. :buttrock:

you won't regret gettin one...especially helps on those 12 hour sessions, no more wrist cramps

but throw the wacom mouse away, and yah, keep your old one plugged in
