You have some very nice characters in this scene, but most of all your lighting is the best. I dont know if this is your final camera or not by i would bring it down lower and closer to them. One more thing, try to make it a bit darker behind the tree or put some contrast in.
I realy like where this is going though.

Do not fell bad, and do not worry about poor English. Many of us learn the language through participation and helping each other in places like this. Perhaps as you continue to contribute here, you will become more confident in your ability to communicate.

Thank you so much Sathe about your advises.I've decided to put camera on this way because the characters are looking to upwards so if I had put camera lower I tought their eyes and faces wouldn't be seen well.Altough as I've thought and as you advised, the detailed rock and plants will be on the foreground and will be blured. That's another point also about the camera.Keep waiting about your opinions.Thanks...

I have concerns with your composition. Right now you have two very strong lines pulling the viewers eye out of your scene. It was not too bad with the vine in the center dividing the scene, but now you also have the puhu mom's foot. I find I have to work very hard to keep looking at all the great characters you have because of these things pulling my eye out and away. Maybe it's just me.

I love your background! Sweet! Adds richness and depth. Your lighting is superb.

Quick question: the text beneath the Simurg in your concept sketch of it -- is it Turkish? A logo? Does it mean something?? Just curious. Also what does Simurg mean? Is that just an imaginary name or does it mean something in Turkish?

Just wondering...nice sketch too by the way...

Thanks to you too Oceanbluesky.Me and my fiance were in the same university Fine art faculity. We have education on traditional turkish arts.We worked on motifs and myth.So here some information for you about what you've curious about Simurg.
Simurg, called Anka or Zümrüd-i Anka by Ottomans, is supposed to bring ''good luck''.This bird, believed to be living behind Kaf mountain (a mythical mountain), is pictured as having a large body, multicoloured magnificent tail and strong claws. It is supposed to be strong and rapacious that it can struggle with ''Ejder''.

Simurg is a Persian word composed of two words Si and murg meaning respectively thirty and bird which probably indicate that it carries the features of thirty different birds.

It is also believed that Simurg is created from fire and the sun and it can also speak like a human being. Although simurg was supposed to be a coloured bird, it was also imagined to be green, hence the name Zümrüd-i Anka (emerald-anka) has been given.

This motif extensively used in the decoration of the non religious works.

Glad to see you already have worked out some the eye travel issues. The Simurg's body language and eye are a very strong help to keep the eye within the scene. It's coming together beautifully.

Thank you too for the lesson on the simurg. Always fun to learn new things.

great concept and super modeling. the creature is fantastic. i love it!!!

It has got a great stance and presence. Good bulk u have built on it.

Did u use ZBrush for the trees?

PS:It's a little bit late for answer but first I did modeling then in zbrush detailed it and then prepared the displacement map. There was an another one which one was more detailed then the other one but because of the rendering problems I couldn't use it.

everything looks amazimg.

Only 2 things: Why does he have a lanthern; there is more then enough light to see.
Maybe it would be great to see the entire image much darker but the light of the lanthern much stronger so the image would be mainly lit by the lanthern.

2nd thing: the trees in the background looks like a bad quality picture.

good luck!

Thanks for your opinions. In my sketches the lantern is a firefly. But it's a very lazy firefly and can't fly everytime so it takes place in the journey as he sits in the lantern. Also the other two character who are with the firefly and needs it for both at the nights and the darker sights of the forest while they're passing through. In my story which I'll submit with my final image these details will me told. Thanks again.

Finally it's finished.I really get enjoyed in this challenge.I hope everyone feels the same and get enjoy with the scene. Here is the story:

THE MAGIC FLUFF
In the land of Dabunlesia there exists a legend about a bird, a magical bird. It’s magical though it has magical fluff. If somone gets just one fluff, he gets the ability to fly. This magical bird is called ‘Simurg’. Believed by the legend, Simurg has thirthy different birds’ features and is supposed to bring good luck. Inspired by the legend, dissipated ‘Nosey’ and ‘Freckle’ begin a journey with their little monster friend ‘Greg’ and lazy firefly. Using his pump arrow, Nosey gets fluff from every bird that they come across on their way and collect them on the carriage to test them afterwards whether they function or not. Whenever they come across a bird, even they don’t feel like it’s the magical one, they get a fluff. One day they come across with a bird with its bemused fluffy baby in its nest. The bird is a puhu. Nosey and Freckle don’t know anything about the puhus which get so angry with the ones close to the nest. But they feel that the bird is the one. Then they feel like they’re under a spell and they looked charmed at the puhu. Nosey gets his pump arrow ready to get the magical fluff and Freckle tries to reach the puhu with a vine as he has lost his mind. What a big mistake was that, thinking that puhu is the one that they were looking for. But there was a truth about the ‘Simurg’ behind the tree where the Simurg was watching them with a funny, inquisitive expression.

Thank you so much. The discussion about the lighting and shading are really makes me glad. But because of the technical hardware disabilities of my pc,I had some rendering problems.By this problems I've had to seperate and subtruct some of the parts. But as a general information
the mental ray, global illumination renders and effects to make the atmosphere are what I used for.If I could have time I would like to make another work to show the lighting and the post effects which I used before.Beside this I have to say that when I saw your scene I realy liked the lighting and also the texture very much.Good luck to you and best wishes.

Very impressive. Good luck with the judging. :)

Thank you.It was a little bit difficult but I textured all the feathers on a plane but the most difficult part was placing all the feathers one by one and the nest is maden from lots of different size of cylinders (paint fx) and there is ramp texture on them so with a correct light it seems good. The explanations might not be enough but I'll try to explain with other works which I want to make in a while.Good luck to you too.

I have to say that on the forum this time i think theres been an especially high quality of images -even more so than ive seen in past challenges. The render is superb, the colours are warm and perfectly thought out, and when i looked at this image it made me laugh out loud! Your lovely fluffy Puhu blows my mind! Cheers!!! Whoohoooooo!!! Alright! This was my favorite entry!! Absolutely adore Freckle! I hope you take these characters and your talent far -- really look forward to seeing Freckle up on the big screen!

So glad a mature, professional, children's oriented entry placed among the winners. It was really funny, while visiting my mom I showed her the other entries and she couldn't disguise her fondness for yours (and preference over my own!). I was like, "Mom! For heavensake, can't you lie?!?" So, you can count my mom and sister as your fans too!! Congratualations on such a well-deserved and inspiring win!! (And cheers to Freckle!)

Thank you so much Eric and your family too.Hearing those comments are really great. All my best wishes to you and your family. Thanks again.
