View Full Version : still: The house at the end of morning(the mushroomhouse from the wip forum)
bjotto 01-07-2003, 07:16 PM This image was render in several passes, one for ech of the hills and two for the fog and one for the foreground. The total renderingtime at 1280x960 was around 40min. The backgraond and the blur was added in photoshop.
I've been working with this image for a month but only on sparetime.
enjoy

looks nice, noticed two things straight away.... the hill in foreground falls off too quickly... needs to be a hill... not a cliff (picture)
and the only yellow light source doesn't look like it should be casting that much light... only a little flam, and the flame wouldn't reach the top of the shroom!
other than that its cool

ehh, the mushroom is yellow so why shouldn't it be yellow I'm pretty happy with the hill.
HieSpike: yeah I know it kind of does but I don't know how it could look otherwise to fit the style of the image, and I think it works pretty well
i dont think theres any crits really... would like a bigger render if pos :)
hehe, but think this looks great! anyway, good job.\

ok, so the mushroom is yellow... my mistake, but would a cangle really be creating THAT much light? think about it, you may wanna add some more candles or summit... just strikes me as odd
It looks great. It's got a bit of that Terry Gillian look to it.
If it was my piece I'd just finish it off with a couple of black crows hovering in the distance over the valley. That would just enhance the latent menace already present and add a touch of 'story' or 'plot' for the viewer to ponder over.
But that's great - Well Done
I agree with Bliz...something in the backround would add alot to the image...and the lighting is just fine.....don't forget this is outdoors and theres more light than just the candle...ambient light too...very well done...just add some birds in the backround r whatever and call it done...good job:thumbsup:

cuse: even bigger, isn't 1280x960 big enough?
spr0g: as remi said that thing is outdoors, the sky will light it pretty well
Bliz and Remi: Great Idea, I'll probably do that
well im running 1920x1200 and when i resize it in ps it looks crappy... so no its not big enough :) unless you wanna zoom out a little as well or something :) your choice, thank you, hehe...
