hello..
i am trying to make a realistic cloth using simulation in 3ds8. the whole idea is for a piece of cloth to fall over a car. i have used a jpg map to interpolate between 2 materials in cloth object properties -between taffeta and silk. i set cm/unit to 30, step size 0,02 and subsample=1. i want to make a 300 frame anim but it keeps stopping somewhere in the middle.
it gives an error 'dt decreased because cloth over-stretched'. i have used a rectangle with the garment modifier with a density of 0,5 (gives around 11.000 polys). when lowering the density i don't have the same problem but i need the mesh more detailed because then the cloth doesn't cover the details correctly and keeps going through my objects.
i tried changing step size to smaller, increased subsample, changed material damping but still have the same problem. did this happen to anyone else? i would be really greatful if someone could give some advice...
