A simple question, is it possible to do the following.

Make a polycube, extrude faces , build something , and with the split polygon tool create a line on one side and make that EXACT same line on the other side of the model also... ??

i've watched a modeling video tutorial and the guy did THAT !
He was modeling a dinosaur and he was creating a basic shape of the head, and then he went on splitting the head with the SPTool , and turned the model around and created -freehand the same exact line on the other....

make a instance of your model,
(duplicate one half, make it instance in the duplicate option)

or

use the CutfaceTool (in side, front, top window if you want a stright precise cut)

Sounds like the draw split tool. It isn't compiled to work on maya 4.5 yet though, only maya 4.0 and earlier.

chappo give us a link to this video. We'll watch that, and we can figure this out.

Maybe he was using the snapping function in the tool's options. You can set as many snapping points along the edge as you like.
