hi

i am animating a character, its like the character has to walk on a fashion show ramp everything is set i have even assigned reactor properties to respective like cloth to the dress and i have taken my character as a deforming mesh but when i hit solve button the machine crashes i have a dual pentium so hardware should not be the problem, i asked my reseller technical executive he said such cloth dynamic simulation is not possible with reactor.

is that true?????

i posted the same thing at the discreet forum but they deleted the thread???????? strange they cannot accept the shortcoming of there package thats just ridiculous....

anyways can anybody guide me how to get out this.

thanx n regards

Vivek

perhaps you should try http://www.vrayrender.com/download/SimCloth3_release.zip

tested it, looks pretty fast . . . and easy to setup . . .

hi Equinoxx

thanx a gig that solved my prob. :)

i was basically refering to the problems with reactor cloth we bought 3ds max 5 and the demo artist of the discreet reseller assured us that reactor can do complex character clothing simulation and later on he said that its not possible, dont u think this is wrong????

hi vivek....
assuming you are in india somewhere and hence your discontent with the discreet guys service.I am surprised you didnt get a whole buncha crap about not owning a legit software bundle and "why dont you call Discreet"
my own experience about discreet here in india is most of there
tech guys only know how to format your system.
our company owns a smoke/flame 3 edits/(one 6 and 1 5+),
2 max and 1 maya.
everytime weve had a problem they eneded up either formating our systems or "tee hee"was the reaction.

also a bit of news for guys who dunno how things are run over here...(the curious types may i add)

you are lucky you don use maya as well....
my email addy is (please done spam)
udaykadkade@nospam.roltanet.com
(remove nospamfrom the addy)
sniffers not allowed!!!!

Roses are red ,
Violets are blue ,
I'm schizophrenic ,
so am I

hi vivek,
digimation published a comparison of different cloth simulation plugins for max. Maybe you can get the info you are after there:Cloth Plugins 3ds max (http://newsletters.digimation.com/Jan08-03/FeaturedProduct1.asp)
But keep in mind that they are selling Stitcher.
