There are dozens of ways of pulling off what you described. I didn't see the episode so I can't help too much there. It could be a good mic, ADR, etc… or a combination.

In the last episode of the apprentice, Trump was standing in the middle of a football field with the band/cheerleaders around him.

It went from a wide-shot on the field and you could hear the marching band playing, to trump talking, AND ONLY trump. He was the only one you could here, you didn't hear one drum, tuba etc... and they were fairly close. How did they accomplish this? just a really really good mic? or some post work?

Hopefully someone who saw the episode will respond :)

LOL! i was wondering the same thing! funny you made a topic about though! if there was a mic. it was hidden very well... and even if there was a hidden mic you should hear the drums because you could clearly see them smashing the drums in two... I think that the apprentices didnt even understand a word he was saying.

The sound was way to clean... i think trump dubbed himself in the studio.
