View Full Version : Aiko&Luma(cartoon)
thondal 05-16-2006, 09:42 PM Hi... Currently tired of my dragon, so i'm just trying to make a 3d version of a cartoon me and a friend started about a year ago or so... it's called aiko and luma, aiko is the "male" and luma is the "female" i'll give some more info later... i may make a animation or something if i get it right... not sure though.. anyhow.. here's the image of aiko and the wip of him after 5 minutes:

okey... did something wrong with the eyes on her... but here's the start on luma... shes the girl... i guess you could call her blond..... in a way... she can only talk and answer in 1-2 words sentences... like: "eh.. yes"..... and "oh..." :P

The models look great, especially with the toon shader applied. I'd like to see it animated, but I'm sure that's gonna be the hard part with such amorphous characters. Any ideas as to how you're going to do it?

not sure... it is a cartoon so i guess i will make the cartoon again just in 3d... but that's gonna take some time, but time will show... but i guess i could try animate them. I could add the mouth, but that only appears when they talk :P

The current shader assigned on this character doesn’t look like cartoon! More like a normal blin or lambert shader! Witch gives it a gradual shading, u have to go to ur material panel and apply an actual cell shade shader to get the effect working!
Here is an example i made for you:

Sorry abuot the bad inking on the fingers! i didnt spend time tweaking the ink thikness there.

hmm.... found something that looks like it, but I have to play around with the settings to get it right... Not much time to do 3d these days, I'm mostly at work, but I may get some time this sunday, so there might be an update around then.

If you want Toonshading, you should switch to Toon in the Shaderbuttons. Look at the picture down below. ;)

yes, i was aware of that. but thanxs anyways... Not much time to do 3d lately, much to do at work and a lot of other things going on... so currently too many balls in the air for 3d :( will most likely make a new model for aiko and luma when i have the time next time... but i still have some stuff left over with lighting and light setups... hoping to be able to do some 3d soon though...
