View Full Version : IK Flips Ellbow 180 degree

I have a problem with an Arm IK.
My left arm works fine, but the right arm, with mirrored geometry, flips the ellbow joint 180degree (shown in the picture)

this happens when the arm is bend more than about 90 degree

any idea why this happens, and only to the right arm?

mirror the joint, set preffered angle, hook up the IK

change the axis order of the bone that flips, that sounds like the bone is in gimble lock.

Along with both of the two previous suggestions which are exactly right, you might also want to look into putting pole vectors on your ik to help reduce popping, but as Virtual mesh says, this sounds very much like the dreaded Gimbal.
