View Full Version : Weld close points plugin?
erikals 05-16-2006, 11:23 AM Hi, I've had this problem a couple of times, after e.g. using the Boolean tool, the boolean doesn't work correct in e.g. the Unify mode and leaves gaps in the final mesh. (Bug posted here (http://www.newtek.com/forums/showthread.php?t=43088)).

What I'm wondering is, is there a plugin that can weld these points automatically? For example by using a set distance?
Would be a handy plugin in many situations.

select points or area that you need to weld, and use merge with fixed value, small value, enought to weld these points, not enought to damage your obj.

Ah.. Now I'm getting somewhere.. :)
Thanks a lot, didn't see that one, thought it would be a weld option.
Thanks :)

If your not too bothered about where they are welded too, you can use "weld average" with the points selected. Or you can use Shift+G to drag/snap the points together.
If you have LWCAD 1.5 - that also has a drag snap facility.
After which, you can just merge points normally.
Though if I know the merge fixed will not impact other geometry that would be my personal first port of call. :)
