Hello,

Can any body point me in the direction of a good head modeling tutorial. Preferably one that uses NURBS. If I'm correct, Maya PLE does not include subdivision surfaces so those tutorials won't work for me. Thanks in advance!

it doesn't have subd's but it should have poly's, must subdivision surface tutorials are really just polymodelling tuturials.

Here you go, in my opinion the 4 best tutorials about Nurbs on the net.
Enjoy :D

1) http://www.highend3d.com/maya/tutorials/patch/

2) http://www.mtmckinley.net/tut1.html

3) http://homepage.mac.com/mikethomson/Tutorial/tutorial.html

4) Maya's own Help, i said this before, but Maya has the Greatest and Best Help/HelpSearch of any 3D CG package.

If you do all of these 4 points, you should be good to go.
Good luck :)

:)

Thanks for all the information guys. Very helpful info indeed. If you think of any other helpful stuff please post it. Info pertaining to setting up clothing for a modeled character in Maya PLE (aka Maya Complete) would be great. Thanks again!

Deomacius.
