Senior Technology Engineer Position Summary: Designs and maintains the technology to create cutting-edge videogames
Essential Job Functions:
• Designs, extends, and applies engine technology to create state-of-the-art videogames on complex platforms
• Educates team members (engineering, art, and design) on effective usages of engine technology
• Communicates with cross-disciplinary team members to research and establish joint goals
• Researches new techniques to extend engine capability
• Reviews technical solutions for correctness and feasibility
• Measures engine performance and introduces efficient alternatives to optimize for space and time limitations
• Coordinates with Lead Programmer to communicate scheduling, progress, and technical feasibility
• Shares knowledge and helps solve problems with team members
• Remains stationary for long periods of time while working in front of a computer
• Manipulates a keyboard, mouse, and/or other input device• Interacts and communicates effectively with management on both a project and studio level
• Performs other similar or related duties as necessary
Experience/Skills:
• 5-8 years of relevant experience
• Experience in the video gaming industry
• Thorough knowledge of C/C++ and object-oriented programming
• Solid math skills• Solid understanding of technology specialty
• Self-motivated with strong work ethic
• Good communication skills and thrives as a member of a team
• Engineering methodology for problem-solving
• Ability to multi-task and to adapt easily to change
• Metrowerks CodeWarrier and Microsoft Visual Studio desired
• 3D Studio Max (or other equivalent modeling package) desired

Education/Certification/Licensing: Bachelor’s (BA) degree from an accredited 4-year college or university or equivalent industry experience
