thought of creating an attacking group of orcs/beasts scene, concentrating on a sole figure in the FG,
some kind of a leader.(creatures in the back still to come, of course..)

this is what i got so far:

i like it. looking good so far!

however, the head seems a JUST a tad small. i know you're going for the small head exaggeration, but i think it would look better with a slightly larger head.

the only other thing is the left hand. the fingers look awkward.

other than that, looking nice! =)

Yeah - there is some great potential for this image - the expression is nice and aggressive, and the lighting you've set on the character sets his shape up well. . . apply the amount of detail you've given to the head to the entire body and you've got somthing here.

Do you draw bones first? It's looks like the bones in his feet were laid down? What is your work flow on a piece like this?

very cool i love the development of the face, it could be perhaps a bit small but with the disfigurement it does not really matter so much.
great stuff

thank you people. all valid crits. :)

intrikit - yeah, head is a bit down-sized. perhaps it could be larger. and the left hand is going to go through some correction and modification.

enthombed - yes, of course. i`ll finish it as soon as i find some free time.

TheShow - as i continue further into the painting details will be added of course. and i do draw
a very raugh and general structure (bones and such..) for figures. my work flow (well, one method anyway...) can be seen here:

thanks again guys.

Real nice, i would suggest moving a leg or adding a shield to his left arm because it seems to me he is really unbalanced with that club in him hand. Gonna fall over, o no!

Awesome so far, but I think the cracks are too smooth. Both in terms of shape, and in terms of the visible below-ground in the cracks. Even dry ground usually doesn't usually have smooth "columns" going down, it's a lot rougher.

thanks eishiya. i`ll keep working on it.

That looks cool so far. The earthy colors are nice.
I love the angle of the ground, and the army in the background... looks quite chaotic. :D
