The breast maybe needs little spreading... It looks as if they are squeezed by two hands on the side... It looks little unnatural.

hey, kevin. really good start mate, but i think part of the problem with the head lies in the jaw and chin area. they seem to be a bit strong for a woman. a woman's chin and jaw is more pointy than a male's, i'll try to dig up a ref for you. keep up the good work tho:bounce:

@kukukiki74
I don't know, maybe you're right - i'll give them a little workover for tomorrows update.

@shoey
Heya! Yup - just can't make the jaws right. Didn't have any reference pics either. (No internet connection at home) So I would appreciate if you had some reference pics :wip:

hey orangefisk,
I think there's something wrong with her leg proportions. Shouldn't the thighs be at least a bit thicker than the lower legs?

orangefisk
01-08-2003, 08:04 AM
Yup - you're right. I think i was getting blind on the character in the end. I'll make those legs done for tomorrow - but thanx for pointing out. :thumbsup:

Noone else with some critique or comments?

hey kev, nice update, still need to work on the head a bit though. do you want her to have spock ears cos they're a bit pointy. anyway... as for the body, don't know if you've seen this or if it will help but you can check it out for proportions.

Thanx shoey! I actually visited that homepage yesterday - but I didn't see that one! The reference is perfect! You also got some face reference pictures?

In fact i'm going for the elven approach - therefor the pointy ears...

i understand the cartoonish feel, though i would still scale down the eyes a bit and pull them in a weeeee bit closer together. this may make an odd gap on the side of the skull then possibly pull in the sides to compensate. i feel this would enhance the propotions of the head and facial features.

keep up the nice progress

the space between the eyes needs to be the width of her nose.
ears look okay. make the lips more fuller to get the model feeling.

The neck is far to thin - even for a comic-like character. Giv ikke op, du er der nęsten!

I've also tried to unwrap this girly, never done that before. Is there anything I should be aware of in the unwrapping/texturing process, and are there any good tuts out there for makin' a realistic skin in photoshop?

OK, one thing before I start. Im not one of the smart guys. I'm dumb as dumb can be. So beware, anything I say might be wrong.
:eek:
I took your Image and messed around a bit. I think it looks better now, though still a bit weird. Here is what I did:
1. moved the neck to the front.
2. moved the space between nose and upper lip to the front.
3. rounded the forehead and pulled out the brow a bit.

http://public.rz.fh-wolfenbuettel.de/~grund/cgtalk/head suggestion.jpg

I think the upper lip looks a bit strange and you could also round up the back of the head.
Now let's wait what the smart ones are going to say.
:curious:

Hi,

I think you're doing fine for now. My experience is that you always need a good reference image for the front and the side of the face. If you can't draw it yourself look for some anatomic drawings on the net or in the library. scale them proper and you will have a great strart. So you don't need to adjust you're model to much later on.

Altering high res. models is an pain in the ... If you change one thing u have to alter another ..., ..., ... .

Bud for now i would do something on the eyes.
"The distance between the eyes is one eye from corner to corner"
And they need to be in the center of the head. and bla bla bla

look up the rules for human head design...
grtz,

MMwizard
