Okay, so I'm working on a nice model of a character... after a while Maya starts to run slower... then I'll save my project and close Maya. When I open the same project again, Maya is much Fast... and my model rotates smoothly? Is there a way to setup Maya so that it doesn't slow down?

The only thing I've tryed is "delete" "by type history".. doesn't help much.

Howdy Neighbor! What version of Maya are you using? I know that 6 and 6.5 had some issues with the prebinding and you would have to reset it now and again.

Is your construction history active and how much undo´s did you setup?

Yes my construction history is active. I'm not sure how to change the undo's available. I think it's at like 25? I've had to go back that far a few times. .. does this happen on your guys/girls computers?

sounds like maya is eating up all your memory --- try downloading a free memory purge freeware (i forget the name) and then you can just use that to free up the memory without having to quit Maya. Though, this may/may not be a more convienent solution -- depends on your senario.

I have 1.37 GB of ram.. Is that the problem?

Even if you have plenty of RAM I find it is always good to restart Maya every now and then. I am using a computer with 4GB of RAM and sometimes Maya still slows down if I have been modeling all day. I usually notice that the marquee tool slows down quite a lot, then I just restart the program
