LAIKA/Entertainment is currently looking for a Lighter for its Research and

Development Department.



The R&D Lighting TD works closely with Artists and Technical Directors to research, design, and develop in-house tools to solve production issues and make productions more efficient as well as use lighting to creatively support the narrative and visual style of the film as directed.



Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

- Perform technical work in support of shot lighting using various production tools.

- Submit work for review and ultimately for the Director's approval.

- Must be able to maintain a high level of quality while working on multiple projects under aggressive deadlines.

- Demonstrated lighting skills with a variety of lighting environments (e.g., high-key, low-key, high-contrast, low-contrast, etc.)

- Must be able to take direction positively and work well within a team.



Qualifications:

- Education or experience in film making, fine arts, architecture, or industrial design is required.

- A basic knowledge of UNIX, ability to troubleshoot technical problems and a familiarity with scripting is required.

- A demonstration reel showing a strong sense of composition, light, and color is required.
