modelling is not much of an issue for me for this project, its the texturing and lighting..........and i lack a lot of information on those aspects.........i want illumination coming from the outside into the interior possibly with some RAYS of light coming in.

does anyone have a tutorial about that in maya?

also, the texturing has been a problem, and a lot of the tutorials are non-basic, at least what i've come across......does anyone have any tips or know of any good tutorials that'll help me here?

ive been so frustrated lately.

-thanks

What software are you using?

The answers to your questions all lie in real world observation - look around you and see how a room is illuminated by different light sources and try to re-create it.

You should be looking at a couple of point lights in the room where light bulbs would be and maybe an area light in the middle. A spotlight with depth map shadows should shine through each window, you will need to add volumetric light and light cloud effects to the spotlights to generate lightrays.

As for textures source them on the net or if you have access to a digital camera...
