Hey there, I'm a total n00b to texturing, but I am interested in starting, and was wondering what programs (preferably free) I should get to make textures for game models.

How do I install Gimp 1.2.3 using a Windows OS? I downloaded the Gimp 1.2.4 for Windows, but it requires that version 1.2.3 be installed first.
